Animal-related fun will be the focus for the grand opening of the Pittsburgh PETCO located at 251 Clairton Blvd., on Saturday and Sunday, January 6 and 7, 2001.
Special events include a Rainforest Reptile Show, Rodent Races and Premium Food Demonstrations. Visitors are encouraged to bring their pet friends for the Ugliest Pet Contest and the Fat Cat Contest. For the kids, a clown offering face painting will be on hand. In addition, information will be available throughout the weekend from various animal organizations on pet adoptions, as well as information on obedience training and low cost vaccination clinics.
"Customers will be pleased with our full assortment of premium pet supplies," says Store Manager Jim McCormick. "Our knowledgeable friendly associates offer superior customer service," McCormick added.
The 13,000 square foot store features a small animal and reptile area, fresh and saltwater fish aquariums, a bird room and a grooming salon.
Store hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
