Pet-related fun will mark the grand opening of the Rockville PETCO located at 1507 Rockville Pike, on Saturday and Sunday, January 20 and 21, 2000.
Special events include a live radio broadcast with WASH-FM 97.1 on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cat lovers can enter their cat in the Fat Cat Contest and to help get their felines back in shape, the winner will receive a year's supply of free food from Nutro -- light formula of course. Deck out your cat or dog in their best attire for the Best Dressed New Year Pet Contest. Animal adoptions hosted by local animal organizations will also be part of the festivities.
In addition, information will be available on low cost vaccination clinics and obedience training.
"Customers will be pleased with our full assortment of premium pet supplies," says Store Manager Frank Constantino. "Our associates are friendly and knowledgeable," added Constantino.
The 15,000 square foot store features a small animal and reptile area, fresh and saltwater fish aquariums, a bird room and a grooming salon.
Store hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
