A fun weekend of animal-related events will mark the grand opening of the new Hanover PETCO located at 416 Eisenhower Dr. on Saturday March 31 and Sunday April 1, 2001.

Visitors to the store are encouraged to bring in their four-legged friends for exciting events like the Pet Costume Contest or the Cat Country Pet Sound Alike Contest sponsored by local radio station WRKZ FM 106.7 Cat Country. In addition, information will be offered throughout the weekend about obedience training, low-cost vaccinations, and pet first aid, as well as information from an Animal Rescue Organization. For the kids, a face painting clown will be part of the entertainment.

"Pets are always welcome to visit us with their owners," says Store Manager, Dee Brown. The 12,000 square foot store features a small animal and reptile area, fresh and saltwater fish aquariums, a bird room and a grooming salon.

Store hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
