  WHAT:     All PETCO stores will host National Pet Adoption events the
            weekend of March 20 and 21 to provide pet lovers across the
            country the chance to meet many adoptable pets, learn about
            area animal shelters, inquire about the best ways to care
            for a new pet, and find out about PETCO's Think Adoption
            First program.

            The March National Pet Adoption Weekend is sponsored by
            Hill's Science Diet.  Representatives from the dog & cat
            food company will be on hand in the majority of stores to
            offer product demonstrations.  In addition, Hill's Science
            Diet is providing an informational guide "The Guide to
            Lifelong Health" and a $10 off product offer as a gift for
            customers who adopt during the National Adoption Weekend
            March 20-21.

  WHEN:     Saturday and Sunday Mar. 20 and Mar. 21
            9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
