Chief Revenue Officer
Joe Venezia joined Petco as Chief Revenue Officer in November 2024, responsible for driving revenue and developing integrated strategies to improve the customer experience and maximize sales growth.
Joe is a proven sales and retail executive with more than 25 years of consumer retail experience. Throughout his career, Joe built a track record for leading teams to achieve sales and profit goals while executing with excellence.
Most recently, Joe served as the Chief Operating Officer of Stores at Michaels, where he was responsible for providing overall leadership and direction to 35,000 team members across more than 1,300 stores in the United States and Canada. Select accomplishments in this role include improving overall customer satisfaction levels by 15%, increasing omnichannel fulfilment by 35% and simplifying operations to reduce expenses significantly over a 3.5-year period.
Prior to Michaels, Joe served as President of Bridgestone Retail Operations, the largest chain of automotive care stores in the United States, where he executed on a 5-year growth strategy. Previously, Joe served as Head of Global Store Operations for several retailers, including Toys “R” Us and Babies “R” Us and The Pantry. Joe also served as Walmart’s Northeast Division President. He began his career at The Proctor & Gamble Company.
He is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and served as an Officer in the United States Army for 9 years. Joe — along with his cat Snuggie and dog Ranger — will be based out of Petco’s National Support Center in San Diego.
