A passion for animals has led actress and animal activist Bo Derek to develop a line of pet care products that will be introduced exclusively at PETCO stores across the nation in late October. In addition, the products will be available online at Petopia, PETCO's Internet Pet Paradise, through http://www.petco.com/ beginning in November.
The products, branded "Bless the Beasts" by Derek, include shampoos, conditioners, pomades and fragrances. A total of 17 items are currently available.
"To me the phrase 'man's best friend' is no exaggeration," Derek said. "Over the years, my dogs have truly provided me with happiness, love and companionship. In return for giving their best, I wanted to give them my best and that is why I've spent the last 4 years developing the finest pet care products available."

Derek will donate a portion of all sale proceeds from "Bless the Beasts" products to Canine Companions for Independence (CCI). That non-profit organization provides highly trained assistance dogs and ongoing support to people with disabilities. Derek is an honorary CCI board member.
