PETCO is planning an exciting weekend to celebrate the grand opening of their relocated Union City store located at 31090 Dyer St., on Saturday and Sunday, 2000. The new store replaces the previous location at 24039 Hesperian Blvd., in Hayward.
Highlighting the event will be an appearance by pet herbalist, Lisa Ayala, on Saturday. Other animal-related activities include professional pet photography, an Owner / Pet Look A Like Contest and pet adoptions from two local animal rescue organizations. In addition, information will be offered on obedience training and low cost vaccinations. For the kids, a moonwalk will be available and a clown offering face painting.
"The new store is wonderful and it allows us to offer many exciting features that customers will love," says Store Manager Geraldo Torno. "We have friendly, knowledgeable associates and offer an expanded assortment of premium pet products," Torno added. The 15,000 square foot store features a small animal and reptile area, fresh and saltwater fish aquariums, a bird room and a grooming salon.
Store hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
