There will be fun for the entire family at the grand opening of the relocated Long Beach PETCO located at 6500 Pacific Coast Highway, on Saturday and Sunday, June 2 and 3, 2001. The new store replaces the previous locations at 6216 E. Pacific Coast Highway and 5700 E. 2nd Street.

Some of the highlights of the weekend's activities will include a Fat Cat Contest, Hamsters races and a Pet trick Contest. Visitors are also encouraged to bring in their furry companions to speak to the Pet Psychic. For the kids, there will be a petting zoo plus a clown offering face painting. In addition, several rescue organizations will be on hand to offer information and adoptions throughout the weekend.

"We will be the largest pet supply store in Long Beach," says Store Manager Gilbert Estrada. "We are looking forward to serving all of your pet care needs," Estrada added. The 15,000 square foot store features a small animal and reptile area, fresh and saltwater fish aquariums, a bird room and a grooming salon.

Store hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.
