National pet supply retailer, PETCO, is pulling out all the stops to celebrate their newest store with the grand opening of the Bethel Park PETCO located at 59 Fort Couch Rd., on Saturday and Sunday, July 14 and 15, 2001.

The kick off to the weekend's festivities will be the ribbon cutting ceremony at 9 a.m. on Saturday, with Mayor Morton. Everyone is encouraged to bring in his or her furry friends to compete in the Best Dressed Pet Contest and the Fat Cat Contest sponsored by Nutro. In addition, a pet photographer will be on hand as well as a demonstration by Rainforest reptiles. For the kids a clown will be available for face painting. Several rescue organizations will also be attending throughout the weekend offering information and adoptions.

"We're excited to be part of this community," says Store Manager Mary Beth Minor. "Customers will be impressed by our wide selection of premium pet products and our sales associates who really care about animals," Minor added. The 15,000 square foot store features a small animal and reptile area, fresh and saltwater fish aquariums, a bird room and a grooming salon.

Store hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
