PETCO announces the grand opening of the new Burke, VA store located at 9230 Old Keene Mill Road on Saturday, March 2 and Sunday, March 3.

Animal lovers are encouraged to bring down their furry (or not so furry) friends to participate in a variety of contests, get their picture taken by a professional pet photographer, or get information on PETCO Obedience Training or low cost vaccinations. And there will be entertainment for the kids, too, including a clown with face paintings and balloons, a coloring contest, hamster races, and free popcorn and cotton candy.

"We are very excited about this weekend," says Store Manager Chris Gobie. "This is a great neighborhood and we are really looking forward to becoming a part of the community," Gobie added. The 13,296 square foot store features a small animal and reptile area, fresh and saltwater fish aquariums, a bird room and a grooming salon.

Store hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.
