PETCO Animal Supplies, Inc. announces the grand opening of the new Plano, TX store, located at 801 West 15th Street, Friday, October 10 through Sunday, October 12. Pets and their people are encouraged to join in this three-day celebration.

The event will include a Best Pet Trick and a Pet/Owner Look Alike Contest, as well as opportunities to learn more about PETCO services such as pet photography and obedience training. There will also be a "Yappy Hour" with treats for those with two legs and four, as well as plenty of time to see the 10,000 different products available at PETCO. And the kids will have a lot to do during this celebration of the human-animal bond, with clown fun, a moon bounce and a coloring contest listed as part of the festivities.

PETCO's mission also includes finding homes for the homeless, and adoptable pets will be on hand during the weekend looking for loving families to call their own. As part of the effort to encourage adoptions, PETCO stores offer Adoption Gift Booklets with savings of up to $180 on store products and services to help welcome the new family member home.

"There are a lot of pet lovers in Texas, and the other two Plano stores have a great relationship with the community," says Store General Manager Rory Auguston. "This third store will help us better serve pets in Plano."

The 15,000 square foot store features a small animal and reptile area, fresh and saltwater fish aquariums, a bird area and a grooming salon. Store hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
